            | Project Scope:
 LYON
			Associates, Inc., a diversified international engineering firm based
			in Honolulu, Hawaii, was retained by the Republic of the Marshall
			Islands Ports Authority (RMIPA) to prepare a master plan for the
			Port of Majuro.  This commercial port serves a combination of
			international cargo, fishing vessels, oil tankers, and regional
			inter-island cargo/passenger traffic. In view of Pedersen Planning
			Consultant's (PPC) past experience with port master plans and other
			planning projects in Micronesia, LYON Associates incorporated PPC as
			part of its overall, interdisciplinary project team.

 Pedersen Planning Consultants participated significantly in the
			project through its:

				analysis of national and regional demographic and economic
				trends;

				participation in the inspection of the port fairway, berthing
				and dock facilities, primary and secondary container yard areas,
				the evaluation of facility conditions and determination of
				short-term improvements;

				completion of interviews with various port stakeholders;

				evaluation of marine transport trends influencing future port
				development;

				forecast of future vessel traffic and cargo volumes;

				participation in the determination of long-term vessel berthing,
				support facilities, and cargo handling requirements needed to
				support future vessel traffic;

				participation in the development of alternate site layouts for
				Delap and Uliga Docks;

				analysis of selected environmental issues associated with future
				port development in Majuro Lagoon;

				recommendation of port development objectives and specific port
				improvement strategies;

				development of a cost-benefit model and related determination of
				anticipated project benefits and costs;

				co-authoring of the overall master plan report; and,

				participation in the presentation of master plan recommendations
				to port stakeholders and the RMIPA Board of Directors. | | |
