| Project Scope:
				An  environmental  assessment  was
prepared for the  City & County  of Honolulu, Division of
Wastewater Management.  This assessment provided the information
necessary to determine whether proposed modifications at the
Whitmore Village Wastewater Treatment Plant would generate any
significant environmental effects.   The evaluation of project
alternatives included:  1) the transport of increased wastewater
flows from the proposed Kahi-Kane Subdivision to Wahiawa
Wastewater treatment plant; 2) pumping all wastewater flows from
Whitmore Village to the Wahiawa WWTP; and 3) expanding the
capacity of the existing Whitmore Village WWTP. The project also involved the
forecast of anticipated wastewater flows in the growing Whitmore
Village area.  A water quality analysis of Wahiawa Reservoir was
also made in light of recent fish kills in the Reservoir and
earlier conclusions made concerning the water chemistry and
aquatic ecology of this water body. |
