				| Project Scope:
				An environmental impact statement
and related documentation was prepared for a 32-unit residential
apartment complex in West Hawaii on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Environmental issues included consideration of local vehicular
traffic generation, the compatibility of the project with
surrounding land uses in the North Kona area, the capacity of
public utilities serving the area, visual quality of the
urbanized area on the seaward side of local transportation
				corridors (Kuakini Highway), and historic/archaeological
resources of the Kahalu’u Historic District.  Project
alternatives evaluated the location of multi-family residential
housing in three different West Hawaii locations, as well as the
				“no project” option. |
